Boot Camp for Idols 2008

Description
This year, Coast Music Conservatory is offering a unique experience for serious and talented vocalists. Students will be immersed in an intensive one-week workshop that focuses on all the performance techniques students need to develop in order to succeed in the pop music industry.

Singers will learn how to:
- choose repertoire that best showcases their talent
- create exciting musical arrangements
- prepare sheet music for a rhythm section (band)
- rehearse with a pianist and band
- behave and dress professionally
- deliver dynamic and memorable performances

Each participant will be filmed throughout the process and will receive a personalized, edited DVD including the performances and behind the scenes highlights. Students will sing two songs each in the final performance, and they'll be backed by LA's first call musicains.

Between six and twelve students will be admitted this summer.

Instruction Dates/Class Hours
Monday, July 7th – Sunday, July 13th 2008 (day off: Saturday, July 12th)

Monday through Friday: 10:00am to 3:00pm

Sunday: 12:00pm to 5:00pm

Public Performance Date
Sunday, July 13th

Requirements
It is recommended that participants be over the age of 14. All must be approved for registration by the audition staff.

Tuition
$1, 050.00
A non-refundable $350 deposit is required upon registration, due on Monday, May 12th. The balance is due before camp begins on Monday, June 30th.
